Badger Ballroom Dance Team
The Badger Ballroom Dance Team (aka BBDT) provides a venue for the competitive collegiate ballroom
dancer or any dancer wishing to improve his or her skills through weekly lessons and practices.
Madtown Ballroom
Madtown Ballroom is a UW-Madison student organization offering a professionally coached performance
team, weekly beginner level ballroom lessons, and a Salsa Rueda practice group on Saturdays. Anyone
may attend the weekly ballroom lessons for beginners and Rueda practices. Auditions are held each
semester for the team which performs at various events at the UW-Madison and the midwest region.
Jumptown - UW Swing Club
Jumptown was founded in order to promote vintage dance by sponsoring dances, classes, and related events.
Madison Dance Organizations
USA Dance Madison
USA Dance-Madison is a local chapter of USA Dance, serving South Central Wisconsin. The club
sponsors monthly Dances for members and the general public. They assist new dancers in finding
places to dance, dance studios, and local ballroom dancing activities.
Madison Tango Society
Madison Tango Society is a not-for-profit organization, with goals of expanding the love of tango,
encouraging instruction in the Madison area, reaching out to other dance communities, and continuing
a positive learning environment for dancers at all levels.
Madison West Coast Swing Club
The Madison West Coast Swing Club provides lessons, places to dance, and a great social scene for both singles
and couples.

Ballroom Dance Shoes
If you decide to buy shoes specifically for ballroom dancing, there are many options. Local stores listed below are the best way to shop because you can try on the shoes before buying. It is common to wear a pair of dance shoes that is a half-size smaller than your normal shoe size. Dance shoes will stretch out as you dance in them, and you want them to fit snugly when they are broken in.
If purchasing through the internet, you should really talk to a customer service representative when placing your order. Some ballroom shoes fit larger than others.
